White Men Can’t Funk….where rhythm is life, and life is rhythm.
Naturally, as my first post I thought I would tell you a little bit about myself and what this blogs all about. First off, I love music. I’m not gonna say ALL music, because I don’t think being able to tolerate a couple country songs qualifies as such, but I definitely have an open mind. My musical tastes can probably be traced back to my two older sisters. One was into a lot of Hip Hop/R&B (Bone Thugs, R. Kelly, TLC) and the other was into more Alternative (Bush, R.E.M., Live), so I got a good mix. What my musical tastes have grown into today, and what you’ll find here is a lot of Hip Hop, Electronic, some club shit or whatever you wanna call it, and even some Indie Rock here and there (definitely in the hip hop samples though). Again, a good little mix.
So why a blog? Well I’ve been making Mix-CD’s for people since I was in High School, even got a few suckers to buy them off me. Most of the time though, I was just hooking my buddies up with some new music. The best thing about making my friends CD’s was that it guaranteed I’d be listening to MY music while riding with them. I’m kinda selfish like that when it comes to music. But I also like sharing. So the purpose of this blog is to do so. That is to share, with whomever, some of this shit I’ve been discovering/listening to. It’s also nice to have a legit reason for all the hours i spend trying to find good new music you won’t hear on the radio. Let me just start by taking you back to 1994 for one of my first, and still today, all time favorites.
