Wifey Wednesday: RnB Edition Again! Miguel, Timbaland ft. Ne-Yo, Brooke Valentine ft. Tyrese + Jon Bellion
No time to talk/think/write but feel like I’m on a roll here, so I gotta throw this one up. The point of this blog is to share music….I think. So here you go; another dose of RnB tracks made for the wifey, dug by the whitey.
Wifey Wednesday: David Guetta ft Jennifer Hudson, Futurecop! ft Christian Rich, Major Lazer ft La Roux + Naughty Ne-Yo
In case anyone was curious, “Does Nicki Minaj like white guys?” is still a regularly occurring search bringing folks to the funk. However, this is NOT the most trending. That of course, would simply be “Nicki Minaj ass.” I can’t be mad at that, I’ve done my fair share of booty searches in my day. Most trending all time = Vida Guerra. Oh, you don’t know? Who are you kidding, yea you do. Ass took her to the top…of the most likely names to be searched before the word “ass”.
Hmmmm. This song sounds eerily similar to Rihanna’s “Only Girl”, no? David Guetta: King of the recycled club jam.
Futurecop! = Heavily electronic based version of the Black Eyed Peas B squad….or maybe E squad?
Not gonna lie, actually kinda excited to see what Major Lazer has in store at Chicago’s North Coast Music Festival. Slightly less than Common….just slightly.
I think Lil Jon could go over Kelly Rowland’s “Motivation” and I’d still dig it. Put the kiddies to bed for this one. Damn, Ne-Yo. This song makes Tweet look like Mother Theresa. Oops…keep them legs shakin’ ladies.
So it’s been brought to my attention that a lot of the shit I post is too hardcore for some of the average hip hopsters from my home town. Tell me something I don’t know. I understand my taste in rap music is oftentimes a little too deep for most, but that’s just how I roll. Sorry I don’t party…all the time. I do like, and have an ear for, other music though, too. And there’s so much good, free shit out there to share, I can’t leave you all deprived.
Let me transition away from my typical shit into this post with some hip hop/electro mash up shit. It’s not just the electro factor that makes it atypical to my usual, but the fact that all he needs is everything I don’t. Not too proud to dig it though. Nice change up provided by producers and DJs De De Mouse, Joe Iron and Taku Takahashi off their collabo EP project titled Nippon Sounds.
Ok, this ones not sooooo atypical, but I promise, I’m just easing into this post so no one catches whiplash. I’m loving the sound that these white dudes (Aer) have been bringing to my ears. Definitely something out of the norm, but still highly hip hop influenced. The Reach was without a doubt one of the best mixtapes I’ve heard this year. So search the funk and check some previously posted highlights from the duo.
(MP3): Aer – Slow Down (ft. June)
Now we’re really getting into it. Pretty lights delivers a beautiful chill track featuring vocals from two of the greatest summertime tracks of all time. Damn Will, how you read my mind like that?…time travel style. This shit is too smooth.
“Here it is the groove slightly transformed
just a bit of a break from the norm
just a little somethin’ to break the monotony
of all that hardcore dance that has gotten to be
a little bit out of control it’s cool to dance
but what about the groove that soothes that moves romance”
Man, if I was still gettin lifted, this shit would take me to another planet. And a couple different galaxies after that. You know I can appreciate chicks ability to reveal it all through the mic. Sorry to those who don’t understand/relate that sometimes the happy words/songs just don’t come to mind. As much as you’d like to, you can’t force that shit. Art comes from the heart. The fake will not survive.
