I like the new feel to this one courtesy of Co.fee. Kinda like an ol’ school R&B/Motown feel.
“I’m gonna need you to say something baby”
Just a lil something to hold you over until Wifey Wednesdays returns with some heat….don’t forget to check “The Longest Text Message” from Childish in last weekend’s “Rap Up.”
“Intro” by The XX has been remixed a ton, but shit still never gets old to me, kinda like “Rolling in the Deep.” I prefer the rap remixes cuz I feel like music really takes on a whole new life when you add some passionate lyrics. This one is pretty solid for simply an upbeat instrumental jam though. Check out the older Pac/B.I.G. and DMX remixes below as well. Classics.
I don’t know how I feel about this one here. Well, I like it. Probably mainly just for the simple fact that I love the original so much, it makes me appreciate and respect any effort to bring it to the public’s attention in a new fashion. My main problem is the horns. The horns MAKE this shit. And there’s NO horns in the remix! They replace em with some horrible manufactured synth sounds or some shit. I don’t know what I’m hearing, but I don’t like it. Anywho, the rest of the mix is pretty straight. If nothing else, get some classic Outkast.
Man, if there were ever an embodiment of the phrase “don’t judge a book by it’s cover,” it would be this dude OutaSight. I was thoroughly shocked after first listening to the song and then looking up his picture, dude’s got skills though. Decent singing voice, but very nice flow. This beat is so smooth, just take some time from your busy day to sit back, relax, and listen. This is the second time I’ve heard OutaSight and 6th sense together, I like the combo. Horns are key on this one. I included an extra track from Mick Boogie’s Re-Living Thing (Peter Bjorn & John Remix Album) where I first heard the two link up. Check out the full Mixtape if you’re intrigued by the Indie/Rap combo.

So I like listening to chicks with pretty voices, go fuck yourself. But I am a fan of Ellie, at least I take a listen any time I see her name pop up. This Dubstep shit is pretty intense, huh? Yeesh, sometime I wanna bash my skull in when I hear it. Other times though, when its done well, shit really gets my head noddin to the vibrations. But I’m not expert, I just heard of this shit bout a year ago. I do like this one though. I’ve also included the song that really got me likin it at first glance.
This chick is amazing. A voice like that needs to be heard by the masses. Im amazed to talk to people who have never heard any of her stuff, or even heard of her at all. Definitely top 3 female voices today. The original song “Rolling in the Deep” is great, but i like remixes and shit, and figure most people can hear the original on their own. Here’s a couple remixes. First, one with Biggie and Hov, which is an obvious combo (?)…..And then another remix by Jamie XX which has been on repeat for me. Shit’s dope.

Check out Mick Boogie’s remix project for her Grammy nominated album from a year ago…Mick Boogie is the best remix DJ in the game, hands down.
